Post-Secondary Education Support Program

The PSESP application opens annually in August for the Fall/Winter semester of that school year. If you attend one of the seven institutions listed below, you must also apply for the Louis Riel Bursary at your institution in addition to this online application (it is usually part of the institution’s General Bursary).

  • Brandon University
  • Université de Saint- Boniface
  • University of Winnipeg
  • University of Manitoba
  • University of College of the North

Post-Secondary Education Support Program Eligibility Requirements

  • You are a registered Citizen with the MMF (or are in the process of receiving your citizenship and have a letter from our Central Registry Office confirming citizenship verification)

  • You are accepted and enrolled full-time or part-time in an accredited institution
  • You are receiving an undergraduate or graduate degree upon completion of the program
  • You have fully completed the online PSESP Application Form
  • You have fully completed the Louis Riel bursary application at your institution where applicable  
  • You are not currently being funded by the Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF) Métis Employment and Training Department.
  • The link for an online self-directed Métis Culture and History Course will be sent to students during their application process. Please complete this course.

  • University of Winnipeg
  • University of Manitoba
  • Université de Saint-Boniface
  • University College of the North
  • Canadian Mennonite University
  • Brandon University
  • Booth University College
  • RRC Polytech (degree programs only)
  • Assiniboine College (degree programs only)
  • Out of Province Institutions

 

◦ Note: If you attend a school that provides the Louis Riel Bursary (see below), your application cannot be moved forward until PSESP is provided with the bursary amounts from the institution. This information may not be received by PSESP until November at which time we will start moving applications forward for approval in the order they were submitted.
